This week, I’m excited to feature a special guest voice from our team—Kimberly Andres Rivera, the voice behind Fearmininity. The founder of a poetic project sharing “sister to sister” reflections on the raw and beautiful journey of being a woman of God.
In this written piece, she reminds us that while we carry many roles as wives, mothers, and homemakers, we are not meant to lose ourselves in the doing. A topic that has been delved into here at the Young Homemakers Club.
It is a tender letter to the woman beneath it all—a reminder to praise God not just in service, but in our distinct souls.
Somewhere between folding clothes, preparing dinner, listening intently, practicing patience, spending time in prayer—I started to forget her.
The girl behind the homemaking and the girl behind the prayers.
Yes, every day I inch towards the reflection of the woman I dream to be.
But… “I had lost the art of me.”
The one who used to write stories on the back of crumpled receipts.
The one who used to dance and sing and glow in front of the mirror.
The one who pretended to speak to an audience when doing mundane chores.
But I have come to learn that you can still honor your calling through nourishing your unique and beautiful soul.
The Lord asks us to bring ourselves to Him, fully.
He wants to watch us unfold before Him.
He wants to admire the way we bring His glory through our hands,
our song,
our thoughts,
and our creations.
We do not have to disappear inside our duty.
In fact, our femininity can blossom through it.
And it doesn’t start with neglecting our responsibilities—but in care of the heart behind them.
Sister, if you have forgotten the sound of your own laugh,
if the home is clean but your soul is cluttered,
if the Word becomes a tangle of knowledge,
take a brief moment to give those troubles to God.
Rest it on His shoulders as He asks of you.
He who knit you together is not surprised by your yearn to know His daughter—you.
He made you to praise Him in the way only you can.
So, maybe today…
Sit on that porch and drink your coffee.
Write that short poem itching at your fingertips.
Praise out loud while folding clothes.
Read something that isn’t practical.
Take a spontaneous walk and talk to God about you.
It can be short and sweet—or as long as time permits. But take that moment to remember the girl within you and re-introduce her into your era as a wife,
a homemaker,
a mother,
and a devoted daughter.
From your sister in Christ,

Verse for Reflection
Psalm 139:13–14 (ESV)
"For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made."
Before you were a wife, a mother, a homemaker—He knew you. He made you. He delights in the girl behind the apron and the to-do list. She still matters.
Prayer of the Week
Heavenly Father,
You have given us beautiful roles to fill, but sometimes we forget the daughter You designed underneath it all. Help us remember who we are in You—fearfully, wonderfully, intentionally made. Let us nourish the girl within, the one who once danced, dreamed, and delighted in small wonders. And may we carry that same joy into our homemaking today.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Final Thoughts
After reading this piece, I found myself whispering, “Yes… I remember her.”
Sisters, it’s easy to get lost in the doing but the Lord does not forget the girl He made before the roles began. And neither should we.
Let this be a gentle nudge to slow down and revisit the details that make you you. God can be glorified in both the servant and the soul. Don’t be afraid to be both.
With love,
