It’s stone fruit season here in Texas, which means it’s finally in the 80s instead of the 100s. Fall is about to start, and I’m eating peaches.

I came across a recipe for pistachio ice cream the other day and thought to myself, why not try a variation of this with peaches and sweeten it with maple syrup? So that’s what I did.

How I Embrace Fall When I Don’t Live in a “Fall-Esque” Place

Fall has always been one of my favorite seasons. I grew up in northern Illinois, so fall looked a lot different back then. But even though Texas doesn’t look or feel the same, I’ve learned how to still embrace the season in my own way.

Here’s how I do it:

  1. I make food with seasonal fruits
This peach ice cream is one example. Eating what’s in season puts me in the fall mood, even if I don’t have crunchy leaves under my feet.

  2. I declutter my home
Fall is the perfect time to slow down and get rid of things I don’t need anymore. It makes my home feel lighter and cozier.

  3. I create little traditions
Lighting a candle at night, pulling out a favorite blanket, reading a book or making something warm to drink makes it feel like fall indoors, even when it’s still warm outside.

Fall isn’t only about the weather—it’s about slowing down, enjoying what’s right in front of you, and creating rhythms that bring peace to your home.
